This lovely platinum band is made from scratch. Dan starts by melting the platinum into an ingot and then hand-rolls the ingot into 2mm x 1.5mm stock. He fusion-welds the band, then forms the ring and hard-rolls it for durability. And because the metal is cold-worked, hand forged bands like this one are denser and stronger than bands that are cast.

Dan hammers the center of this band in our “waterfall” hammering style, the effect tending toward a ripple of light rather than the multi-directional scatter of light created by hammering in typical bands. The textured bevel creates sparkle in other directions for added dimension.

One of the noblest of metals, platinum has a wear characteristic that outlasts gold 10x to 1x. We use an alloy that is 95% platinum and 5% ruthenium.
